We ask that you pray for the soul of our parishioner David Sherry, who passed away unexpectedly Monday morning. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic minister (who sometimes served the 7:00 AM Mass at our sister parish, St. Francis Xavier), and a Hospitality Minister. In fact, he was a Hospitality Minister at Mass on Saturday evening. His wife, Donna, survives him.
The arrangements are as follows: Visitation from 5-8:00 PM Wednesday at Greenwell-Jenkins-Houghlin Funeral Home at Reasor/Main Cross Street, with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. David's funeral and burial will be in Ohio, where he and Donna have family.
Patti Grubb talked to Donna, who asked if we could provide some food tomorrow at the Funeral Home - we already have folks bringing ham sandwiches, cookies, chips and soft drinks. The funeral home should be open around 9:00 AM if you would like to drop your food off. This won't require the same amount of food as a bereavement meal, but we don't know how many will want to eat there.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
