The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, established in 1857, comprises the 14 counties of northeastern Indiana and has a Catholic population of over 160,000, served by 81 parishes. Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades was appointed ninth bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend by Pope Benedict XVI in November 2009.
