Deacon Joe Wiechert, 55, of Cox's Creek, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Missouri. He was born Feb. 14, 1958, in Hempstead, N.Y. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Deacon and member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Ellen Wiechert.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Wiechert, of Cox's Creek; two sons, Seth Huddleston, of Cox's Creek, and Ryan Huddleston, of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Leah, Luke and Logan Huddleston; two brothers, Stan Wiechert, of Kansas, and Bob Wiechert, of California; and a sister, Ann Funk, of Florida.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery. Archbishop Joseph Kurtz will officiate and the Rev. Paul Eve will concelebrate.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Barlow Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at St. Gregory Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Gregory Catholic Church.
