As we approach the Christmas season, let us take just a
moment today to listen to the sound of perfect harmony.
It needs two voices. The first voice is that of God,
who from the very beginning has poured forth blessing
on all the peoples of the earth and will never cease to do
so. The second voice is that of God’s creation, echoing
the blessing by living in loving relationship with one
another and with God. This may sound like a distant
dream, but in fact the music of blessing begins right
now and right here, every time we set aside our narrow
tribalism and relate to one another with love.
