On your mark, get set, stop!

A website challenges fast-clicking Web surfers to hang out at a virtual beach for 120 seconds, just because.
DoNothingfor2Minutes.com features a photo of the ocean and the sun peeking over clouds, the calming sounds of waves lapping at the beach, and a timer counting backwards from two minutes.
Co-creator Alex Tew, who made an easy and well-publicized million in 2005 by selling 1 million pixels for $1 each at the Million Dollar Homepage, told TechCrunch his new site counters the now-now-now mentality encouraged by Internet use.
The website DoNothingfor2Minutes.com challenges viewers to sit still for 120 seconds.
"I had been thinking how we spend every waking minute of the day with access to an unlimited supply of information, to the point of information overload. ... So we're all developing a bit of ADD. Which is probably not great in terms of being productive."
Visitors to Do Nothing for 2 Minutes must remain virtually still, touching neither keyboard nor mouse, or they receive a red "FAIL" bar and the clock resets.
The task sounds simple, but it took this caffeinated reporter several tries to reach the zero mark. While the images and sounds soothed, the timer seemed to operate in direct opposition to the exercise, breaking the short stretch into seconds to be endured rather than a quiet, if tiny, virtual vacation.
Other users might be having similar experiences: Tew posted a message to Twitter saying most visitors lasted less than a minute. Those who do make it to the end receive a simple reward.
