Prayer needed: 3 teens killed in Franklin County crash

I ask for your prayers for the families of the young men who were killed in a car accident this past Friday morning in Frankfort. All were members of Good Shepherd Church in Frankfort.  My daughter Melissa taught them for several years.  One of the young man's father was killed in the  9/11 crash in Pennsylvania and his son a only child.Young lives taken so soon. Thank you, Jan.  

Police in the central Kentucky said three teens have been killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash.

Shortly after 2 a.m., the three Franklin County High School seniors were traveling south on Highway 421 in Franklin County in a 2007 Audi when the driver lost control and went off the road, police said.

The car traveled through a line of trees and burst into flames.

Driver Nick Jacoby, Benjamin Laslie and Allen Williams were killed in the crash.

Police said they believe speed played a factor in the crash.

“It's one of the worst. Anytime you have young people who perish the way they did it's tough for everybody,” said Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton.

“All three of these students were 18 and were active in the Future Farmers of America agriculture program. Allen Williams was also a member of the Flyer football team. They were very well respected and loved by the students, staff, and our entire school community,” said superintendent Harrie Buecker.

Crisis teams spent the day at the school.

Students have already begun raising money for and taking food to the families.
